Our Leaders

Gary and Gloria Garner are the founders of Prevailing Word Ministries and the senior pastors of Glen Allen Christian Fellowship Church. Their Christian experience consist of attending various Bible Training Centers, conducting various home Bible study groups, mentoring youth, and raising their children in the Lord. They have also participated in overseas missions work and have a strong commitment to seeing the church in the Richmond Virginia community and all over the world come into the fullness of their spiritual inheritance in Christ.

Geraldine Dickens
Gerri Dickens is one of the founding members of Prevailing Word Ministries and a leading pastor of Glen Allen Christian Fellowship Church. Along with her pastoral and teaching calling, she also has a distinct gifting in the area of prophetic ministry. She has served and functioned in key roles at various churches and has played a crucial part in bringing a solid foundation to each. Her passion is to see God’s church grow and mature in love and holiness and enter into His rest.

Karen Christian is the Ministry Facilitator for Prevailing Word Ministries/ Glen Allen Christian Fellowship Church. Karen is a native of Richmond VA and has served in children’s/youth ministry and young adult ministry in various churches. She holds a B.S. degree in Child Development and Family studies from Howard University and the University of Maryland. Professionally, Karen has advocated for children and families through peer counseling and mentoring, child care and development, pediatric and adolescent health services, mediation, and disability rights. In addition, she has coordinated multiple programs that fostered growth in the community at-large. Through exhortation and prayer, her heartbeat is to “heal the broken hearted” through the love of Jesus.

Robert and Lorraine Surratt are the leaders of the prayer and prophetic teams. They are both prayer warriors. Robert also leads the men's ministry. He is a master tailor who has made costumes for several major Hollywood productions. In addition to her calling, Lorraine serves as a teacher and trainer of children workers in and out of the church. Together they serve relentlessly as peace makers within the body of Christ, esteeming unity over their own needs, seeking first the kingdom of God. They reside in Richmond, VA and have one son.

Roz Kennedy

Roz Kennedy is our worship leader. She is also a minister of the gospel and specializes in creative arts and ministry outreach productions.

Roz possesses a unique ability to minister to the Lord in worship that brings His presence in a tangible way. She has a passion to see the church of Jesus Christ delivered, encouraged and to touch a higher reality. She is devoted to simplicity, purity and true Christian worship.

Roz and her husband Micheal live in Richmond. She has three children and five grandchildren.
